Funny Lady of the week

Janeane Garofalo

Janeane is another one of those either you get her or you don't type of comedians. Not only is she a heck of a stand-up she also has quite a decent amount of acting jobs under her belt also. Personally I would probably prefer to go see a Garofalo stand-up set before I went and saw something she acted in, but that is personal preference and I like the personality that shows through on her speaking engagements.

Currently Janeane has a show on the AirAmerica radio network The Majority Report.

If you don't know who Janeane is my suggestion is you check out some of her older stuff first, Reality Bites is one of my favories. The Ben Stiller show, Larry Sanders, or any of her stand-up are also good viewing. Do NOT judge her on her SNL stint (yes SNL rears it's head again, what's up with that?) She has gone on record as saying those were bad times, and if you look at the years you can do the math and figure out she was on the show during the low low times.
