Wow

I really do have to say I am completely shocked, I expected more out of my home state, and to be honest my country. A lot of measures went in the direction I wanted them to but one very specific one went Very wrong.

Personal political views coming ahead, strong ones so be careful

I really have no idea why I feel so strongly about Measure 36, I'm not gay, and as far as I know I don't personally know any gay people... But I have no problem with the fact that there are in fact people of that persuasion.

What I do have a problem with is bigotry, to me that is what the issue here is. People argue about "the sanctity of marriage" what a bs point that is... how many divorces did we have in the country in the last year? How about those who try and talk about what it says in the Bible about marriage? Well what if your Bible is not my Bible... what if in fact I don't have a Bible, nobody should be forced to bend to the will of someone else's religion by proxy. For that matter what about a Catholic marrying a Christian, or a Christian and a Jewish Person, or throw in an atheist or an agnostic anywhere in there, those all prevent the religious argument. I nearly forgot my favorite argument, "well if we let two people of the same sex get married next thing you know some guy is going to want to marry his goat!"... Really, do you think that is going to happen? Well if you are seriously worried about that, and you are willing to add something into the Constitution how about just making it so a marriage is between one consenting human being and another consenting human being... That should hold us up until the aliens come.

Bottom line is to me the ban on same sex marriage is a barbaric ruling and it shames me that this is the result of the peoples vote. By the way, I don't want to hear any opposing opinions Unless they can be made without bringing up anything in the realm of "sanctity", religion, or "animals". Also forget about bringing up the teaching kids in school argument because I would also like to point out that, just because they are not married does not mean they do not exist. I'm not saying that I am perfect, I am not saying you are a bad person for voting yes on 36 if you did, I am just saying if you did vote yes I sure hope that you saw some reasoning that I missed.

By the way I felt I should point out, I do in fact Love my country, that is probably why I find this so angering. If you love something and you see something bad happening to it naturally it will get emotions running.
