Music and Movies

For the longest time the music used in movies never even really came to my mind, I didn't pay a whole lot of conscious attention to it and I thought that is how it should be. I thought it should be kept in the background basically unnoticed.

Lately though I've been noticing the music a lot more, and really how much of an effect it can have on a scene. The best example I can think of at the moment is from the movie DareDevil, the funeral scene where they play "My Immortal" by Evanescence. That is a very powerfully emotional scene, the way the scenes are cut together combined with the just overwhelmingly emotional song mixes perfectly. I think this scene may actually may have been one of the big reasons I stopped to take notice of music in film.

I went to check out the iTunes store and apparently they don't carry an Evanescence songs, at least not yet, which is unfortunate.
