Samba stew

So I completely forgot how simple setting up a Samba share can be, it's like they say a working smb.conf file can look like this

[homes]

... it just won't do much, but I do have a very basic and functional conf file that is only about 23 lines long. It's not a secure tank with that few lines, but it is working and easily beefed up.

Why did I take a break from this stuff for so long?

as a side note, writing the file from scratch was much faster than editing the samba file like they had us do in class oh so long ago.
