Phantasm-ic

It may look a little silly now, especially on its own with no context. But this used to really freak me out.

So many movies to go through that I haven't yet seen, yet so many others that I need to re watch.....

The ball is back! "Phantasm"...good call. That was one of those weird, twisted horror movies of my youth. Cronenberg's "The Brood" was the other one that sticks in my memory. I didn't see "Phantasm" in the theater, but caught it many times on cable the following year. The low budget feel and bad acting made it believable in a strange way...it had a certain atmosphere, shocking ending and dark feel that harkened up vibes of the original "Halloween" and "The Omen" to name a few.

I saw it so many times on late night cable without having any idea what it was (remember those days before the digital menu?). Actually I had almost forgot about the movie until just the other day, then Stacie wrote about it and reminded me about how unsettled it really left me.
