Another challenge

Ok ok, so Ash has done it again and challenged me. Here we go.

1. Name a movie you have seen more than 10 times.

I could go with the obvious here and say Clerks, but really that isn't a secret anymore is it? So how about another one I try to watch every year. Lethal Weapon. That is the movie I always try to watch during the holiday season. Hey it starts out with Jingle Bell Rock so it counts as a Christmas movie to me. For the record Die Hard counts as well, but I haven't seen it nearly as many times.

2. Name a movie that you have seen multiple times in the theater.

This is another one that is difficult to answer, I've seen a ton of movies multiple times in theaters. I'll go with a surprising one again. Nine Months, don't ask me how it happened but I ended up seeing this one three times in the theaters. In my defense one of them was in a double feature.

3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.

It doesn't specify male or female so here is one of each. Also I'm sticking to currently working actors, just to make it fair.

Male: Nathan Fillion. I guarantee that if you put him in anything I'll be there to watch.
Female: Julia Stiles. I even watched the remake of The Omen because she was in it.

4. Name an actor that would make you less inclined to see a movie.

If she counts as an actor I'll throw the name Paris Hilton out there as the one that could keep me away from a movie even if it looks fantastic.

5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from.

I'll go with the Princess Bride here. If only because quoting it helped me out tremendously in college (we could very easily have died of boredom).

6. Name a movie musical that you know all the lyrics to all the songs.

Cannibal: The Musical. Which strangely enough recently came up in some emails.

7. Name a movie that you recommend everyone to see.

To Kill a Mockingbird is my newest recommendation.

8. Name a movie that you own.

Plan 9 From Outer Space.

9. Name a movie that you have been meaning to see but just haven't gotten around to it.

2001: A Space Odyssey. But now I think I'll wait until I can get Colossus: The Forbin Project and make a weekend out of it.

10. Ever walked out of a movie?

Never. But I almost walked out of an advanced screening of Next Friday. Not because of the movie (which was exactly what I expected it to be) but because some geniuses decided it would be a really fun idea to sneak some pot into the theater to smoke it. That stuff makes me sick, I almost had to leave.

11. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.

Never have

12. What was the last movie you saw in the movie theater?

It has been over a year since I've been able to see a movie in a theater. It wasn't memorable enough for me to recall the name right now. The last great theater experience I had was at Serenity.

13. What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?

The first time I ever went to the theater was when I went with my friend and his mom to see Fried Green Tomatoes. Me and my friend spent most of the time in the lobby playing arcade games.

14. What movie do you wish you had never seen?

The Village. Because then it would be that movie that looked really good that I never saw. Instead it is now that movie that looked way cool but in the end delivered nothing but a hefty groin punch.

15. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?

Labyrinth

16. What's the scariest movie you have seen?

I'm a bad judge on true scariest, but recently I think the most unsettling movie I have seen is the original Halloween.

17. What's the funniest movie you've seen?

Hands down the funniest movie I have ever seen was the one they showed us at ITT that warned about the dangers of defaulting on your student loan.

Hmm..I thought you had never seen Clerks? ;) Kidding....good answers. Thanks for stepping up to the challenge....and as far as your "musical" tastes...the only thing I have to say is this:

Let's build a snowman Pierce!
We can make him our best friend!
We can name him Shannon. Shannon Wilson Bell! ;)

Glad to hear you like "Mockingbird" so much as to be your number one recommended movie. To tie it all up, it's Han Solo's favorite movie as well...

Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space"...hmmmm...did Joel/Mike and The Bots ever rip this one?

Here's a little advise when you watch "2001." Come into watching it with NO expectations about anything concerning previous sci-fi movies. It's not your everyday, average sci-fi movie. Hell, even to this day I still don't know exactly what "2001" is and I'm not alone. The genre is sci-fi, but the sub-genres are all over the map. "2001" might be hailed as the biggest "I loved it/I hated it" movie described my the masses. It's an odd bird that smacks more of an art form than a movie. Curious to see if you like it.

Yes Ash, and we can make him tall, or we can make him not so tall. Right?

As far as I know MST3k never did do Plan 9. I always kind of hoped they would do it in a sequel to the movie. I would certainly put it up on the old Interociter to watch.

The only expectation I have of 2001 is that I expect it will be one of those movies that will benefit from multiple viewings.
